Bookplate of "The Chisholm" Roderick Donald Matheson Chisholm.

Roderick Donald Matheson Chisholm (1861-1886) was the 28th chief of Clan Chisholm, son of James Sutherland Chisholm who succeeded to the Erchless Estates in 1858 whilst living in Canada.
In 1883, when Roderick came of age, he and his father disentailed the estates.

The bookplate was obtained from Erchless Castle in the 1950's from the then owner Baroness Phyllis von Stackelberg.
It is now in the Oakville Museum in Canada.
