Highland Flintlock Dress Pistols
This is a pair of Highland Dress Pistols sold at auction at Christies for £6875 in December 2013.
The pistols are profusely laid with silver bands, scrollwork and flower-heads and bear the gaeilic inscription "An Siosalach" in silver.
As this inscription signifies the clan chief, they were possibly owned by Roderick Donald Matheson Chisholm, the 28th chief at the end of the 19th century.
