Chisholm Estate Letters

Chisholm Estate Letters

The letters are very interesting and descriptive since they give an indication of life in Strathglass in earlier times. At the time the chief rented out the castle and lived in London so the factor of the Chisholm estate was constantly writing to him to inform him of the weather, crops, local news, arranging meetings for him on his visits, etc and keeping him advised on how the estate was being managed.
The letters came to light when the castle and estate were purchased by Baron Stacleburg and are now in private hands in Scotland.
